D.O.C.C’s (by Nokana Mojapelo) pushes the boundaries by incorporating personal narratives into their local streetwear brand. Recently the brand dropped a “Booty Call” collection, which was post-breakup couture at its finest, and no South African designer has ever created such an emotion-driven collection.
They presented the collection as an album, with artwork accompanying each garment. The Booty Call EP, the world’s first break-up-themed fashion-music compilation, was born from this alternative approach to fashion.
Printed T-shirts, text and graphic golf shirts, pastel shorts, and a two-piece canvas trench coat and pant combination are all remnants of the connection. D.O.C.C is a team to keep an eye on, especially among the younger generation.
