Military, utilitarian and street are three words to describe South African-born, Asian menswear designer, Richard Hoy. He started out with custom menswear and swimwear but quickly found a love for streetwear. His pieces are rebellious and youthful, but considering his excellent tailoring, still minimal and classic. Hoy might be young, but he truly has an eye for matching hard and soft to create effortless and edgy pieces.
Recently, he was even a finalist at the 2019 SA Fashion Week Scouting Menswear Competition after completing his Diploma in Fashion and Retail Buying at the Damelin College of South Africa.
