Based in Cape Town, Sindiso Khumalo founded her own ready-to-wear womenswear label in order to create modern, ecological clothing that has been inspired by her Zulu and Ndebele ancestors. She works closely with small African factories that produce hand-woven textiles for each collection. These eco-friendly fabrics include organic cotton, linen, and hemp. Her brand is one of the latest to join NET-A-Vanguard PORTER’s initiative for emerging talent. She also won the GCFA ‘Independent Designer’ award in 2020.
Keep an eye out for the lovely hand-drawn graphics and embroidery. Her pieces have a natural feminine touch thanks to her excellent attention to detail.
