Thabo Kopele, a 23-year-old fashion designer who studied Fashion Design at LISOF, but due to financial issues, he had to drop out in 2017. This only inspired him to work harder and return to his studies with a scholarship after establishing his own label.
Kopele is a breath of fresh air on the runway. He integrates his ideas using contemporary zeitgeist methodologies, such as fabrics, architecture, and minimal garment construction.
His dedication and hard work continue to pay off; in 2020, he was a finalist in the Scouting Menswear Competition at South African Fashion Week, and in 2021, he was chosen as one of the Top 8 designers to represent Africa at a WGSN mentorship.
