So, you know how you love taking pics with your phone, and always wondered whether there was a way to level up on the fly? There totally is! Local photographer and all-around stylish human Jenni Elizabeth offers cell phone workshops that teach participants how to use light, composition, camera angles, styling, backgrounds, editing and so much more.
These occasions take place in person, or via Zoom, so check out her website to see what’s coming up. The Zoom option is a great idea if you and your friend want to camp out at home and soak up the new skills in your own space. All you need is your device.
Cost: Workshop fees are per person – R750, so if you double up from one screen you still need to pony up for two.
Enjoy a cooking class or private catered dinner with Tamatiestraat
Tamatiestraat in Stellenbosch offers awesomely fun, super informal demo cooking experiences. This is the ideal way to discover new recipes to whip up in your home kitchen using fresh and seasonal ingredients. Classes tend to fill up quickly, so if you want to enjoy some Tamatiestraat goodness, but can’t secure a spot, you can always book a private catered dinner at home!
Cost: Cooking experiences start at R650pp (minimum numbers apply). For catering, it’s best to contact them for pricing as it varies according to menu choices and group size.
Go wild food foraging with Veld & Sea
A beautiful space in which to dineForaging has been a huge foodie trend for a while now, and with good reason – there is something completely spellbinding about making your way into nature and finding food in its natural habitat. It reconnects you with the living world like you would not believe.

Have a kayaking + tandem biking adventure with Atlantic Outlook
Atlantic Outlook offers a range of experiences along the Atlantic Seaboard in Cape Town, including kayaking, guided hikes, and tandem bike rides along the Sea Point Promenade. One great option for a pair of active buddies is the Land & Sea Experience – a morning out in nature that starts with a kayaking tour, followed by a tandem bike ride along the prom towards coffee and breakfast in Bantry Bay or Camps Bay. Floral fun at the Flower Café
If a whimsical floral experience in a magical setting sounds like your cup of tea (or barista-brewed coffee!) then Flower Café will be right up your alley. Situated in the creative hub of Woodstock, this singular destination offers a daily floral workshop menu that includes all sorts of creative activities using fanciful florals and pretty botanicals.
